Angelina Jolie is one of the most beautiful women in the world and she compliments that beauty with a voluptuously sexy body. Granted that she is genetically gifted, but like many other Hollywood Starlets, she has put a lot of work into getting that hourglass figure.

I always thought Angelina Jolie was hot, but in Tomb Raider she looked even better. She was outright banging! She was feisty, kicked ass, even did her own stunts, and looked damn good doing it all.

If you want to look like Angelina in Tomb Raider, well then prepare to do work. To get the sculpted figure, Jolie took up kickboxing, street fighting, weapons training, canoeing, yoga and scuba diving. She also got rid of the cigarettes and ate a well balanced low-fat high protein diet.

Angelina Jolie Training Regimen

Kickboxing: Angelina usually performed one hour long sessions of kickboxing and trained 3 days out of the week. Kickboxing, like regular boxing, happens to be a very intense workout. You are constantly moving around, punching and kicking heavy bags which might not sound intense, but it will wear you down. If you perform just one hour of kickboxing, you can loose up to 800 calories so the amount of work definitely pays off.

In addition, since you are constantly performing quick movements while moving around and hitting the bag, your muscles are constantly working and straining which helps tone and strengthen them. This high intensity nature of kickboxing makes it ideal to burn fat and build muscles. Kickboxing was the primary workout of Angelina Jolie in her preparation for Tomb Raider.

Scuba Diving: Scuba Diving is not traditionally used as a workout routine but it does have some hidden benefits. Water provides much more resistance than air, and so movement in water is much more difficult than in air. When you are scuba diving you are working against the water’s current. It requires a lot of effort to balance yourself and maneuver through the water. This type of resistance training makes scuba diving another good fat burning and muscle toning workout.

Weapons Training: Tomb Raider had a lot of action and frequent use of weapons, so Angelina Jolie had to get used to working with weapons in order to prepare for the roll which is why she took up weapons training.

Most of the weapons Jolie trained with weighed anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds. Training with these weapons required a lot of lifting, stabilizing, and swinging motions which made for a good upper body workout. Also, Jolie, would have to move around a lot while training with these weapons which added more weight for her body to carry making it a good lower body workout as well. In addition, weapons training helped burn fat making for a good overall workout.

Canoeing: Canoeing was another workout that Jolie did from time to time. Like the other workouts, it is great for burning fat and building muscles. It is a good core, shoulders, and back workout as you are constantly working the paddle to move through the water while keeping your canoe stable.

Yoga: Yoga is an interesting workout as it is more relaxing than intense. Angelina would use yoga to balance out her other rigorous workouts. But don’t be fooled into thinking that yoga is easy. Yoga works a lot on balance and stretching, which takes time to learn and get used to. This combination of balance and stretching helps strengthen your muscles and build flexibility which was vital for Jolie when performing all the stunts and action in the Tomb Raider movie.

In each of Angelina Jolie’s workouts, the common theme was burn fat and tone muscles. This combination helped her achieve her goal of being strong and flexible rather than slow and overly-muscular, which helped her perform her stunts and action sequences in Tomb Raider more efficiently.

Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider Diet

Diet like with everyone else was just as important for Angelina as her workout regimen. She ate 5 to 6 small meals a day that consisted of high-protein and low-fat foods.

She cut down on all junk foods including anything with sugar in it and consumed a lot of steamed meats and vegetables while only drinking soy milk. Some of the foods that she ate were steamed beef, steamed sea bass, lean chicken, tuna, whole grain rice, steamed vegetables and fresh fruit.

Angelina Jolie worked hard to look like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. It took a lot of discipline, effort, and metal focus but in the end the results spoke for themselves. She looked spectacular and was no doubt the best person for the role (even if the movie did suck).
